♦ On March 26, 1997, near San Diego, CA, Marshall Applewhite led his followers of Heaven’s Gate® to their deaths, via suicide. They believed that the world as we know it was about to be “recycled” to start over and make way for a new civilization. When the Hale Bopp comet got closer to Earth, they took it as a sign that it was time to leave their “vessels” (bodies) and move on to the Next Level. While preparing for their eventual ‘turning in of their vessels’ (their bodies), they spread the word to others and chronicled their journey, which included their final words on video- later released to the media. 39 people took their lives that day, but there are still followers of this cult even today. They believed Applewhite to be Jesus reincarnated as “Do”. http://www.heavensgate.com/
♦ In 1995, after allegedly being diagnosed with cancer, Vianna Stibal purported to heal that cancer instantly and spontaneously. From there she created a technique called Orian, later named ThetaHealing™. Vianna claims that using this technique that you can heal anything- mentally, physically, emotionally as well as inanimate objects. Members are taught that through her series of classes that you can receive a Doctorate of ThetaHealing, and that in one of her ‘upper’ classes, you can learn to walk through walls and refill liquids. All are taught that healings are instantaneous and, if they’re not, then you must do Belief Work to fix your personal blocks. To date, ThetaHealing reports members in the thousands throughout several different countries. www.thetahealing.com

Each picture of the Heaven’s Gate members do have quotations listed throughout the post; not all ThetaHealers® have a quote on the post but are for the purpose of showing examples of those who were recorded giving testimonials.

OUTSTANDING comparison!

Grow up. You must have horrible feelings about yourself. I think that you would have terrible migraine headaches as you seem to worry more about you and less for your children. Are you a mom, or just a pretend mom. I think you depend on a support group of losers, whinners, and just down on life people. Look up, and live positive. Get out of your dump trailer in ****** and live. (I took out my location)
This is the kind of response that they give? That’s it? Wow.

So, Raena, I have never had the chance to thank you. Seriously!
At first I was very, very angry with you for manuvering Josh away from Lindsey and her four children. But, he destroyed her credit, lost her house and van, stole credit card money from Nature’s Path store, faked business dealings with Tiger Woods, lied to join the Air Force, lied to get out of the Air Force so that he could reattach to his mother, wrote stacks of bad checks, faked the sale of a patent, colluded with Vianna to defraud and steal tens of thousands of dollars through SpectraVision Homes, and abandoned four precious children. I think he would even lie about the color of his shirt. He has never had any loving emotional contact with the children nor any financial contribution to them. Isn’t it hard to fathom how a father would remove himself from his little ones? But, I guess you blend with that through your removal of your kids.
As time has gone on, I am seeing that you did the most wonderful thing for me and my family. We are all truely grateful to you. For whatever pshchotic relationship the two of you have, you removed Josh. For that I am (and we are) indebted to you. That is true. No sarcashm or attack. True. Truely healed without any anger.
It would be wise for you to move on to your next married man with children. Josh has no money nor prospects except through theft. The only emotional and physical bond he has is to his mother. He is an archetype and living example of an Oedipus fixation. I’m sure you’ve seen it. Anti-social. Knows everything about everything. Lies about everything. Knows his mother cheats and lies and fakes her inventions in ThetaHealing doctrines but feeds at her gully anyway. Can’t talk with anyone except his mother. Can’t stand that Guy Stibal is in his rightfull place. Ever noticed his response to a call from her? Lightning jump and emotional high just to talk to her at any time day or night. In the priorities of life, her needs are first, even above his children and temporary wife(s). It must feel disgusting to you, but just as the three women before you – you are just the temporary, female access stand in.
Anyway, I can’t thank you enough for removing him from us. What a crushing burden he is. He’s all yours.

Lindsey!!!
What up girlie! It’s been awhile since I’ve been active with anything online. Guess life takes it out of you. I’ll be with Brian this weekend, (we have big news!) so we’ll have to get together with the kids!
So I just went through all of your posts on here, gotta say I love each of them. Very profound and without a doubt set on finding the truth. I’ve done my own research more into the realms of deceit and lies rooted within the clan of thetahealers. They are truly a misguided bunch on the strings of their puppet master and her thuggish sidekick who resembles a walking floormat with legs.
If you go back through all the responses you’ve received from so-called “lovers of light” or whatever BS they want to claim, all of them have brought out their little pistols of personal attacks, not having one shred of evidence that what they claim they are doing is remotely truth. If they want to state that their “personal” revelations and experiences are fact, then I know of a hospital in Salt Lake named Bellevue that has some accommodations fit for their needs, (padded walls sold separately).
A prime example is this latest post by gettingoverit, obviously not too far over it. These statements yet again have no factual references in them, just angry personal attacks, which are commonly seen when facts have been presented and their arsenal for retort has no facts to present.
Here’s one of my favorite quotes:
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
Keep at it Lindsey!
So all of you cronies that are frothing at the mouth to put Lindsey down and say that she is full of hate and anger, try looking at yourself in the mirror sometime and ask God, NOT Vianna’s Creator, your own personal God, if what you are doing is right. He will answer you.
James 1:5 (King James Version)
5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

wow “gettingoverit”, that was a pretty loaded comment. Lindsey makes an honest and decent comparison between two controversial groups and you: 1) kinda wish terrible migraine headaches (i.e. PAIN) on her, 2) question her role as a single-mother (who was abandoned by her then husband) and 3) criticize the very people who are her support system?
Nice.
Hmm…if your comment is ANY representation of the TH interpretation of ‘unconditional love’ that they talk about so much…uh…I’ll pass. Do you practice Theta? Do you practice Unconditional Love? You might want to re-think this.
There’s a psychological term for that sort of behavior: it’s called “Projection”. I suggest you wikipedia it. And then, go back and read the first two sentences of your comment back to yourself. You might learn something in the process. ….I’m just sayin’. -love and light!

OMG! I had the biggest laugh of my life, looking at this entry on Heaven’s Gate and theta healing! Love the pictures of wild-eyed “DO” and Vianna, who looks more like a witch right out of a coven or…Morticia…remember her from The Addam’s Family? It’s the black eyes AND hair. Hysterical! Interesting, how similar the two groups are; a wacky leader and their faithful followers. I see a lot of irony here.
The fact that Lindsey, this blog’s author has chosen to show all comments (whether complimentary or attacking) shows her honesty and integrity in supplying her readers with FACTS, not fiction about the workings of and within theta healing. Theta healing enthusiasts should be worried. 15 years of lies and deceit are coming out of the closet.

gettingoverit – how can you tell Lindsey to “grow up” when she is the sole provider of four young children. And how can you suggest that she worries more about herself than those children when all she worries about is how to provide for her children. Lindsey is devoted to them and would sacrifice anything to ensure their well-being. The people who you rudely cite as being “losers, whinners, and just down on life people” are the very people ThetaHealing preys upon; the advice you offer to Lindsey would be better suited to the TH community.
It is a community of people who lack any genuine faith in God, and who instead seek to affirm their claimed connection to God by following a prescribed ritual which they believe induces a theta brainwave; their faith is not in God but in the theta state of 4-8 Hz and the corresponding signigificance their leader Vianna Stibal gives to such a state. It is a community of people so wholly deficient in any true feeling that they seek to impress upon themselves and upon others a sense of well-being by “commanding” God to instantly “download” into them certain feelings and qualities, such that their whole experience of life lacks any natural or spontaneous quality, and becomes subordinate to the processes prescribed by TH. TH is a cult and the purpose of Lindsey’s blog entry is to highlight this.
I can’t help wondering who you are and why you refrain from commenting under you own name. In your attempt to discredit and abuse Lindsey all that you allege against her is that she is a mother who suffered from migraines, and who apparently lives in a trailer park. As Lindsey said; “That’s it?”

Wow, thank you for one of the most witty and insightful posts yet. I have long realised that Theta had become a cult (even before my resignation). It’s the whole “I must check this with Vianna…”, “but Vianna says this…”, “must pretect the purity of the teachings…”
and my favorite “but God chose Vianna to be the channel” (Guy Stibal to my face Feb 2008)
it was even funnier to recognise so many of of the “Theta Members.” I’m embarrassed to admit that at least one was a past student of mine. But I bear no responsibility for what happened to them after they took the teacher training and sold their soul to ThINK… Poor buggers.
Linsey – you are a shining star to many people. Don’t let idiotic personal attacks by your ex-husband’s floozies or any Theta cronies put you off your good work.
Simon
Simon, thank you. This was definitely one of my favorite posts to date! Thanks for your kind words… I’m working on it! (famous TH last words)

Thank god there is still some sanity left in this otherwise crazy set up.I think Lindsey is very brave to put up with such strong opposition.I have a cousin who is so sold out on this Theta rubbish that even after my repeated attempts, with proof about this almost crimminal activity(a I call it crimminal as these people are playing with human lives. It is as bad as Blood Diamond)she thinks she has finally found the right direction.I am aghast at the stupidity of these educated people, how blind can they be.On closer examination I have observed that a thing like this preposterous Theta healing only attracts people who are deluded, have some psychological problems, some who just want to make money so on and forth. My god, I want to say so much more but I really dont know where to begin and where to end.I think this whole thing is truely SATANIC.Bless all of you there who have the basic comman sense to speak up against such mad.psychotic rubbish.Must say these people (Theta Healers)really have guts, despite medical and scientific proof that they have no credibility they carry on relentless. That is the frightening bit,has the world degenerated so much that educated, well placed people believe in this mombo jumbo.I feel so frustrated that no one seems to take any action against this cult. How can USA govt even permit or register such a PONZI SCHEME.All that I can say is thank god for those few handful of people who have the courage to speak up against this.
“Wake up”,
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I am equally thankful as you are for those people, like yourself, who take the time to chime in and express disapproval of this group. It is indeed frustrating, as you said, and I’m absolutely astounded that the US government can allow these people to claim what they do with no offer of proof. Other companies fall under “false advertisement”, yet this group is allowed to say that they instantly heal things like cancer and HIV. It’s sick and wrong, in so many ways.
All my best to you,
Lindsey

I want to comment to all of this, I use to be a theta healer myself took many classes, I never saw results not with the people in my classes or to anyone in general, yet they tell you it is between you and god if you will heal, well how come few became teachers yet still were not healed? I wonder about that myself. There were people with eye problems and still did not heal after three week classes, guess we just couldn’t find the belief that held that eye problem, now I can say sure to that! and also Healers were labeled as very Angry people by teachers that were teaching the classes, and best of all the teachers were knocking every other teacher that was talked about in the class, so unconditional love please they judged everyone including you and me, and at the time I believed I had alot to heal to get to the point of that unconditional love, I thought wow the more I heal the clearer I will see everything as clear as they see it, It was a way of them making you believe you should spend more money and take more and more classes, I want to say this though, they knocked me down so far, they feed off my pain, and opened up every fear I could of had, it was a mind twist, and it made me fall apart, am I bitter? Not at all, I am angry at myself for allowing such people to destroy me and my life, I don’t want to tell you what they did to me but Don’t listen to them get a real counselor, do your own self healing, and do not allow them to take your pride, your self esteem nor your sanity, We are all able to heal ourselves, trust me after them I needed more help to get myself back together, they destroyed me , my innocent children, and all the good I thought I was, and made me think the worst of myself, which at the time I was in a weak emotional state, and believed them, and allowed them to control me to do things that they told me to do which in turn completely destroyed me, do nothing they tell you to do and hold onto your wallet, and your sanity, If you want forgiveness speak to god yourself share nothing with them, remember they are not God they are judging you, jealous of you and want all they can take from you!
Dee,
Absolutely. Unfortunately, I wish I could say that you’re wrong- but, like any other cult, they find the weak spots in your life and they prey on it. I’m so sorry for what happened to you, but your comments will undoubtedly help others as they investigate. For that, I thank you.
All my best,
Lindsey
