Prostitutes and Strapped Throat

Recently, a friend emailed me a link to a ThetaHealer’s website. I was curious what made the website worth looking into, so I took a moment out of my crazy day to give it a glance. It was worth it. I laughed, and winced, simultaneously. Then I knew I ”needed” to post it on this blog as soon as time allowed. (That was 2 weeks ago, for those who still think I dedicate every waking minute to obsession with ThetaHealing.)

The website belongs to a ”healer” named Sarah Faith- a fitting name for a worker of light, right? I’m not sure she knows yet just how much faith you need to have in order to be an avid follower of ThetaHealing. Regardless, her website’s FAQ page is a pretty classic example of the mindset of a typical ThetaHealer. The following are some excerpts…

A ThetaHealer’s Website

What is ThetaHealing?

“… a simple meditation to… witness an instantaneous physical, emotional and spiritual healing.”

Lindsey says: Yes, clearly it’s very “simple” to instantaneously heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. That’s why we are the first people since the beginning of time to be free of all ailments. I’m so thankful for ThetaHealing, or we would continue to be human beings… or… wait., what?…

What is the average time to see results?

“Results usually surface immediately… They last a lifetime.”

Lindsey says: Did I catch that right? Average Annie has a ThetaHealing appointment and immediately she gets results- and not just that, but her results last a lifetime. No, that doesn’t sound like trumped-up results or false advertising… nor does it seem unrealistic in any way. Not at all. It’s completely normal to promise lifetime results! … What?? … After years of medical school, doctors don’t even give those kind of guarantees- they nearly resist saying it when they amputate, just in case! But for ThetaHealing… results “last a lifetime.” Huh. For only $100 or so (per session, let’s not be too unrealistic here), you can resolve your physical, mental and emotional issues for life. Throw your therapist’s number in the trash, make new plans for the time you used to worship in church, nevermind your doctor or naturopath or, heck, your friends… and don’t worry about eating healthy, exercising, taking medications or nutritional supplements. With knowledge that you’ve got lifetime results via “simple” ThetaHealing meditation from someone, without even an asterisk or a disclaimer? Nice!

Who uses ThetaHealing?

“Healthcare professionals, M.D.’s, chiropractors, massage therapists… entrepreneurs… moms and dads… therapists… all over the world on every continent  by people of every culture, religion and race.”

Lindsey says: Every continent by people of every culture, religion and race. Fascinating. That’s so funny, because I know quite a number of people in various countries who have never even heard of ThetaHealing, and you’d think that if every culture, religion and race uses it, more people would know about it. I’m also interested in who uses ThetaHealing in Antarctica.

What kind of conditions can ThetaHealing assist with?

(I’m adding screenshots of this, just so you know I’m not making this stuff up)

… and then there’s…

Furthermore, …

Lindsey says: The question was “What kind of conditions can ThetaHealing assist with?” Sarah first added the message at the beginning of the list that says “these is [sic] a list of conditions… because they are most common.” It’s pretty clear that Ms. Faith chose this lengthy list because she thinks it’s going to make her look like a knowledgable healer who has worked with such a vast, oh, and don’t forget “common”, array of conditions. Unfortunately (for her), this is where things just get ridiculous!

  • Cadmium poisoning? Cadmium poisoning. When was the last time you met someone who suffered from cadmium poisoning?
  • Bone, brain, breast, bladder, cervical, colon, esophageal, larynx, leukemia, lung, lymphatic, “lymphoma hodgkins or non-hodgkins lymphoma”, oral, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, skin and stomach cancers. That’s 19 different (well, sort of) types of cancer in (nearly) alphabetical order. This is not a list of “common” things ThetaHealing fixes- this is clearly a list of cancers meant to lure people in when they search for help on a search engine for their particular cancer.
  • Comas. Comas? This one must be in there because Vianna claims to have pulled herself out of a coma when in Italy- you know, when no one was there with her, and when she called home to talk to her children every day. And yet again, how often do ThetaHealers go around healing people of comas. It just sounds cool, so why not add it to the list!
  • Dyslexia? Come on. Serious be can’t this.
  • Kneecap problems. Kneecap problems!?
  • And my personal favorite: Prostitutes. How, exactly, do you heal the condition of “prostitutes”? I’m curious. Really.
  • Strapped throat, urinary track infection, and fineness trouble. What is going on here!??? Is “fineness trouble” supposed to mean “finance trouble”? I’m going to pass out- first from laughing, then again from the insanity.

Okay, so this isn’t my most serious posting ever, but it begged to be a part of this blog. I’m sure that Sarah Faith means no specific harm toward people, but after reading through her website, and plenty of other ThetaHealing devotee sites, it is just impossible to ignore the idiocy any longer. To take on such a role as one who is going to heal people instantaneously, using a modality which declares the know-how to teleport, refill milk jugs and command God to do anything and everything that the “healer” wishes- well, I just don’t apologize for pointing out nonsense. I just don’t!

I’ve been quite open about my feelings about Vianna Stibal and her pretend modality, and how it’s so clearly based upon a well thought out lie. I’ve touched on Vianna’s lack of education as it relates to her all-knowingness… or rather, that it makes so sense to be all-knowing and be nearly ignorant as well. I’ve been open about my thoughts, and have openly accepted commenter views, that those who are interested in this group are generally in it because they can make a GOOD living without any formal or informal education or training at all… and this website, even just the FAQ page, is once again another example of followers without common sense.

For those of you who will come to this website in search of answers, this was clearly focusing on the lighter, funnier side. In my own life, I’m generally more sarcastic than not. But please don’t take this to mean that I’m being petty or that I’ve lost track of the detriment of ThetaHealing in our world. Please peruse the rest of this blog to discover further, more disturbing facts about this cult.

In all honesty, though, this post may be funny for a moment… but if you realize that this “healer” is at least somewhat of an active ThetaHealer, who “works on” people looking for real help, it’s frightening. Once again, I encourage all who come to this blog to keep your eyes wide open, whether you’re researching before your first ThetaHealing class or personal session, or if you’ve got a friend or family member who has already been sucked into this cult. Think about the logic, or lack of it, in what you’ve seen or heard.

Remember that your common sense is your best gauge, and always- ALWAYS- ask questions! Those who become offended when asked to “prove” extravagant claims don’t deserve your trust.

Thanks for stopping by,
Lindsey

ThetaHealing: The Destructive Reality

Search Engine Terms

Aside from the fact that WordPress allows me to blog for free, there’s another perk that I’m a big fan of: “Site Stats”. Every now and then I like to glance through it to see how many hits I get per day/week/month. But perhaps the best category on the site stats page is the one entitled “Search Engine Terms”. There I can see what search words led them to my blog.

Generally, the most searched for terms are “theta healing scam”, “vianna stibal”, “thetahealing”, ”theta healing fraud” followed by a random assortment of things like “vianna stibal fake”, “Vianna stibal hoax” ”does theta healing actually work” and “thetahealing truth.” I chuckle to myself when I get searches for ”Marshall Applewhite Hale Bopp” and “James Arthur Ray trial, feel like people are ‘getting it’ when I see searches like “thetahealing doesn’t work” and “theta healing no results”… and my heart aches when I see searches like “using theta healing to cure HIV” and “healing cancer with theta healing.”

Comments From Real People

On the right hand side of this blog you can find the most recent comments left by ‘you’. I publish nearly every one (I explain the ones I didn’t post in Personal Attackers Need Not Apply), but I’m not sure how many of those comments are actually viewed by passers-by. That’s one thing I can’t tell on WordPress… I wonder if I can beg them for that capability? Sorry, back to the point. I get some seriously incredible comments, and I’m always honored when someone takes time out of their day to leave meaningful remarks for others, and me, to read. Furthermore, and you may not believe me (which is fine) but I also appreciate the Pro-Theta comments, as long as they are constructive and aren’t flowing in my direction for the sole purpose of throwing stones at me as an evil ThetaNaysayer.

3 Real People

The following first excerpt is from a comment that can still be seen on this blog. I was blown away by it and, after communicating with its author, I asked permission to not only use it as a focal point for a post- but also to quote a personal email that he wrote me. I believe that you will understand why I knew it was vital to include this ‘story’ in a more highlighted way, and not just as a nearly ‘hidden’ comment. I wanted to also add two other comments which follow, so you can get a little more of a view of the others, like me, who see that ThetaHealing isn’t as magical as it appears to be.

1. “[ThetaHealing] will delay proper treatment

“Greetings from the UK! I came across your website when I was arranging a date with a guy I’d met. When he told me what he did for a living he said ‘Reflexologist and Theta Healer’. Now I already knew Reflexology was a load of unproven BS but I had no idea what Theta Healing was so I googled it and found your site, (and others). These people sound almost as crazy as the Scientology bunch! I cancelled the date, and will be referring anyone else who mentions Theta ‘Healing’ to me over to your site. Personally as someone with HIV, I find Miss Stibal’s claim that it can be cured with her method as insulting as it is stupid. Good work debunking this crap.”
I thanked “Joe” via email, and this is an excerpt from one of his replies…:

“A positive HIV diagnosis can put people in the vulnerable, stressed, and weakened state that makes them all the more susceptible to the kind of ambiguous but cleverly worded and manipulative mumbo-jumbo peddled by these people who dare to call themselves healers, when people should be listening to a qualified Doctor and taking proven drugs.
In the UK the view that HIV can be treated by ‘alternative methods’ – like changes in diet and nutrition seems to me to be more noticeable in recent years, and this ThetaHealing BS is no different – it will delay proper treatment, and suggests that the virus is somehow less serious than it is. All in all, they’re a nasty piece of work. If I hear anyone refer to, or consider TH, I shall send them over to your blog.” – “Joe”

2. The Rat

My marriage broke up after I fell out with my ex-wife over this woman while she was attending one of her courses in India. Both of us were complementary therapists and I am quite open minded but smelt a rat quite quickly. I could not get my wife to see that Vianna was a fraud. I also tried to argue with this Vianna Stibal, saying that if she were so good why wasn’t she out in the streets curing people instead of entertaining westerners for thousands of pounds.

3. Heart-less and Cold

I recently lost  hard earned money through attending a ‘seminar’ (what a joke).  I am 76 years old. Alone.  I live on $865 a month I do not have a bank account, I do not own real estate, stocks, bonds, jewelry or a savings account.  I explained this to them and they assured me I would be healed and could teach others to heal and make a living doing so.  All that happened is i was beat out of my grocery money.  How heart-less and cold.  I wish i had read this earlier.

This is Real Life, Not Fantasy

I’ve read these three examples many, many times leading up to posting them here. The most difficult part is knowing that behind these 3 comments are real people, and for each of these 3 people there are dozens more who have contacted me in private, and whose privacy I’ve sworn to uphold. These 3 people, and the other unnamed, unposted people who have been hurt or damaged by ThetaHealing are REAL. It hurts me to hear their REAL stories.

I’m just the voice of this blog…

I’m not one to hide my sarcasm on this blog because I’m being true to my own personality in my regular, everyday life. But staying true to me, I openly admit to being quite hurt! When I get the personal letters which speak a very different story than the testimonials (which give the impression that ThetaHealing is the miracle of all miracles), it hurts. When I read the devastation, emotional and financial, i’m filled with angst for the men and women of different ages and races who once believed and longed for help and answers… and who now realize that it was all in vain… it hurts.

I knew that when I received the message from “Joe” that I had to specifically express my concern for those with the ‘popular’ diseases- like cancer and HIV- and the way that ThetaHealers (specifically Vianna) flippantly toss those terms around. This is no joke… this is real life. The way that Vianna expresses her “I healed my car!” attitude is not funny- not when people’s lives are on the line, not when people put their trust in someone who claims to have healed herself…

But Vianna didn’t heal herself. If she did, she’d show us the proof.

And the quest for miracle healing, through ThetaHealing, never ends… because in reality, it never actually began.

Those who have already fallen for the trickery of ThetaHealing, and made their way out, already know these basic concepts: One session leads to more sessions. One set of “Belief Work” leads you to believe that just another set of Belief Work or “Downloads” will be the final answer- the key to the freedom from sickness (however that sickness is manifest) that you need. One class leads to the next class, to the next invented miracle class. One thousand U.S. dollars leads to the next thousand, or many thousands, because “what if” the next chunk of money is THE money that will finally get you the answers you need? What if your AIDS really can be cured by the ignorant woman in Idaho Falls, who said she healed her own cancer?? What if your life savings is all it will take to free you from the pain you’ve had for the past 20 years? What if ThetaHealing really does work, but you just need to do it a little bit longer to finally see the benefits? And all the while, there is never any proof offered that Vianna’s miracle cancer cure ever even took place at all.

Friends, please don’t waste your precious time.

If you’re ailing, if you’re in need of physical or emotional pain relief, if you’re dying or just looking to improve your life… PLEASE put your trust in those who are trustworthy. I have experience with this group, I knew them personally and I’ve done the research (and written a book) on who they are. I don’t expect you to read this blog or my book, and take my word, but I do suspect that when you do your own research that you’ll come to the same conclusions that I have made. Being a guilt-driven person, I would die slowly of guilt if I swallowed what I know about Vianna and ThetaHealing and walked the other way, simply because it’s not the popular step to choose- or simply because those involved in ThetaHealing will always accuse me of being hate-filled, anger driven, miserable, sad, or whatever description best fits at the moment. In reality, I’m just a normal person, a normal mom, a normal wife, friend and daughter who cannot hide what I know.

The destructive reality is that Vianna Stibal, and many of her “high up” teachers, are themselves ailing. Many are overweight, many are sick, many are divorced many times over, many eat horribly, and many eventually leave ThetaHealing. I see them leave all the time now, and I take no blame nor do I take credit. The truth speaks loud enough on its own when you’re willing to look at the facts.

Please don’t put your faith, hope and money into ThetaHealing. Listen to the comments of people who have been there, were hurt, and who walked away.

Weight Liberation = Cash Liberation

ThetaHealing doesn’t work.

Doing about 3 seconds worth of research for my prior blog post, I came across another example of why people may choose to say, “Are you kidding me?” when they hear about ThetaHealing for the first time. Because of what I saw in my rare moment of googling (rare because I have limited time as a mom), this post was born. And I can already tell you that this will be one of my favorite posts, simply because it makes me laugh! And Heaven knows I love to laugh…

I almost had a 1989 Paula Abdul moment, thinking perhaps this post should be called ”Straight Up”- because we’re getting down and dirty this time; straight up nitty-gritty. Because, guys, ThetaHealing doesn’t actually work. Once again, I’ve got a great example for you why it’s so laughable.

Weight Liberation, or Cash Liberation?

ThetaHealing has a new elective class called Weight Liberation. But before discussing it- please, allow me first to insert my annoyance at the use of the word “elective”, as though A) the other ThetaHealing classes are required by the human race, and B) the class is of use in the real world as a REAL school course… when in reality, it’s a for-profit proprietary school and no one doesn’t “pass”. (Very “school” like, right? Wrong.)

ThetaHealing’s weight ”liberation” rationale.

If you’re holding on to a moundage of poundage, or if muffins are offensive to you because they reflect your waistline, you’re *not supposed* to call the next step ”losing weight“. As the theory goes, if you refer to the work of shedding lb’s by telling people (or yourself) “I need to lose weight,” or “I lost weight!” then you have already sabotaged your perfect body. How? Oh, well obviously, because your subconscious mind will always have to “look for” that weight you lost! It doesn’t matter if you work out for 3 hours a day & consume fewer calories than a starving child, because if you say those dreaded words, “lost” or “lose” weight, then poof! the weight will latch back on to you by way of your subconscious mind!  (Recap: If you “lose” it, then you need to “find” it… At least that’s what I heard a thousand times when ThetaHealing was the only topic of importance in my prior family life as Vianna’s daughter-in-law.)

“Straight up now tell me…”

The problem here is pretty obvious. Vianna and her own daughters, and many, many, many ThetaHealers are overweight. I’m not talking about the extra 5 lbs you took home as a souvenir from your cruise to the Bahamas. By “overweight” I mean that you could practically slice the body into 2 separate humans. I’m being real here, because trust me- I could lose a few myself. (which brings me to my next point…)

Who would you want to take a Weight “Liberation” class from?

… and my next point is that I can discuss the vastness of extra weight that exists in Vianna and her family, and in a LOT of their major followers, freely because I can honestly tell you that I know I’ve got a few extra lb’s in the love handle region that I’d love to be rid of… and I would NEVER try to teach someone else how to lose THEIR spare tire- and charge for it! And make it a 4-5 hour course! And then profess that it works because the saggy baggy elephant who supposedly got this information from God says so!! It’s insanity!

And this is where the game of con, via ThetaHealing, becomes wretchedly transparent. Again. Normally, someone who has lost weight (or toned their muscles) posts the basic **before & after** shots. They’re quite common, and if you’ve been alive for the past 10 years or more, you’ve definitely seen a thousand of them. Here’s a basic celeb comparison:

Or, you may prefer the cliché side-by-side comparison with the actual words “before” and “after” on the bottom.

They may be cheesy, but these types of pictures are vital in the business of weight reduction. There are so many choices in the weight loss/diet businesses already, some with intense supporting evidence and scientific studies! Then there is ThetaHealing. Huh? They needed to make more money, so why not add a moronic “elective” course where they try to convince some high-hoped overweight people that 4 hours of downloads and inspirational words from guru leader Vianna is going to shed the excess- as long as you call it “LIBERATION”.

ThetaHealing’s Motto: No Proof is Ever Actually Needed

Before and After pictures are proof that (in this case) your trusty ThetaHealing teacher, wasn’t already thin, and thus the class, pill, piece of exercise equipment… or eyes-closed weight-loss downloaded from God, meant nothing at all. Or, the pictures can prove that Mr. or Mrs. ThetaInstructor is not currently still fat and/or jiggly but hiding behind the infamous Facebook-esq ”profile” picture, and that their system really did do the magic it claims to do. Both are equally as shady, if you ask me.

The 2 Sides of The Shady Strategy Coin

  1. Someone announces a *new* weight loss regimen when their body was already thin/healthy/toned –> dishonest. (ie “Look, it worked!” No, it didn’t. We all remember that you were already skinny.)
  2. Someone announces a *new* regimen but they’re still a walking heart attack waiting to happen/floppy/never lost any actual weight with the taught system–> dishonest. (ie The Facebook Hiders)

The Creator of Weight Liberation. Really????

If this was Vianna before…

Then where is her after? The other half of this picture could be another 150lbs for all we know. I can already tell, having known Vianna for years and having just seen her in person last week, that her face is intensely airbrushed in the above picture… so I’m just wondering- where are the “after” shots of her God-Inspired Weight Liberation class? I believe it’s only fair to ask for the proof of how Vianna believes she can claim the ability to be the leader of the class on “toning up” and “liberating” the pounds. Come on.

Like everything else in ThetaHealing, you don’t actually need proof!

Or so they THInK…

In my googling, I’ve seen not before and after for this new ThetaHealing course. And honestly, I’m a little surprised! With as proficient at lying as many/most ThetaHealers have become, and as common as Photo Shop is, why haven’t they posted a fake before and after picture?

Why would anyone, especially in this type of careful economy around the world, pay good money to someone who clearly should NOT be teaching a weight “liberation” class! I would think that this class should be an instant bomb.

Real Life Liberators of ThetaHealing

I looked up who taught Weight Liberation. Suzanne came up quickly in my search.

I’m sure she’s a very nice woman. But, would you take a course on how to be thin/fit/healthy/firm from her? This is what her website says…

I don’t think it’s wise for anyone to adhere to a system wherein people are relying upon “Vianna’s journey in releasing pounds and building muscle in the highest and best way”- when Vianna has had liposuction and is clearly still overweight. I believe that those 2 things are enough to cause you to not trust a weight loss course that Vianna pioneered.

Here’s another liberated woman, Suzie.

Where is the rest of her? Why did she choose to put the smallest sized picture possible, where you can barely tell that she’s human and not just a What is she trying to hide? Would you pay $150 for her 4 hour course? This is what her website says:

Uh oh. We’ve got a lot of the same wording as the first Suzanne. Perhaps words from the (cult) leader? Is Suzie really just Suzanne, trying to get more press? I don’t understand how they can claim the ability to teach which supplements should be used in a weight liberation course.

Next there’s Dawn Maree, who has YouTube’s aplenty. Here’s a shot of her from “Bones”  from 2006 (Admission of jealousy #1: As a major Bones fan, I’m ridiculously envious!)

Looks to me like Miss Dawn Maree was already pretty thin. Other than this picture, most videos of her are just of the neck up- but it looks to me like weight was never really an issue for her. She falls into the class of con-healers (sorry for the redundancy) of those who never needed to be liberated, but think they can teach the rest of us who do need some liberation all of the profound ThetaHealing knowledge that the Liberator herself, Vianna, downloaded straight from God. Her website says…

Hmmm. We’ve got some major copying of words going on… including using incorrect grammar. (I’m hoping someone will read this and send the message to the whole crew that they need to add an extra “o” to the word “to” in “to busy”. I really would like to see some more free-thinking here, guys.)

Let’s find one more, just for the sake of having an even 4 examples of who is teaching this class… and who I’ve found on the FIRST page of my googling today. This is Eric.

This is another example of the profile picture. I’m not sure if this guy has abs of steel or if his weight rivals a buffalo. All I know is that this is what his website declares.

Same message, but at least he was smart enough to fix the blaring errors. This time he added that the prerequisites are “Basic & Advanced Certification”. Better start the classes now, or you’ll never be liberated from those darn pounds!

And this is why the lack of pictures is a problem! How can ThetaHealers advertise on the internet about fixing something as touchy as blubber and muscles, with no visual acknowledgement of *the* before and after shots??

This whole ThetaHealing thing is quite unrealistic. How much more obvious can it be that they’re just looking to take your money? It’s a great lure, however, for the lazy people of the world. How nice would it be if everything, including weight loss- wait, excuse me- weight liberation takes no work at all? Nothing in the world of ThetaHealing takes any actual effort, no working hard to get a benefit. It’s all just “close your eyes and say yes” and then you have what you want! ThetaHealing is absolute junk.

Hand over your cash, and SMILE while you do it!

I feel like the basic premise of ThetaHealing is to announce to the world that there is finally a group that has all the answers for everything there is when clearly the “founder” herself has so many of the issues (claimed to be fixable so easily by ThetaHealing) on her own. It’s a classic cultish behavior. They provide all of the answers to everything in one cozy little package… that you have to keep paying for, of course. I mean, let’s not get carried away here, they won’t offer this stuff for free, guys. But… I thought we were already introduced to this with Scientology and the magical auditing? Did we really need another group who claims all power, for everything there is? From healing “cancer of the leg” to finding Soul Mate(s) to Weight Liberation… I certainly wasn’t aware that we did… Maybe that’s because it’s idiotic.

So, until next time, if you want to rid yourself of some extra pounds, please feel free to try whatever liberation mechanism you’d like- as long as it doesn’t involve downloading the release of weight from God. ThetaHealing still doesn’t work. No “buts” allowed.

Time Travel & The Game of Life

Because sometimes you just need a good chuckle…

It looks as though the ThetaDiva herself, Vianna Stibal, has finally figured out how to go back in time. Perhaps she tracked down the Back to the Future DeLorean, or maybe one of her minions built her a super stealthy Theta Squad car. One thing is for certain, though- when you claim to heal cancer in an instant (and everything else for that matter, including a car…) then jumping to the instant (no pun intended) conclusion that the following is a misprint isn’t a normal first thought. These guys actually believe in teleporting, regrowing limbs and changing genetic defects. And now, they are apparently holding seminars in 1970.

Take a ThetaHealing Class Now! in 1970?

Learn How to “Get Excited”, through a New ThetaHealing Elective!

There’s also a new super exciting class to be announced on here, friends. I’m not just here to make fun of the still-ridiculous world-wide-ThetaHealing masterful website that, even with all of the $$$$ floating around in Vianna’s wallet, still has no skilled hands assuring ongoing professionalism. Wait a minute, though… don’t hold your breath. It’s really not nearly as exciting! as it may seem, much to the dismay of the course description. It’s called “The Game of Life.” Aaaand, here we go.

This "Game of Life" is More Realistic

No, not that Game of Life. Although the little pink or blue ‘people’ pegs have just about as much brain power as it takes to come up with a class like this.

And yes, as mentioned above, it’s declared as an “elective”, because apparently the rest of the Theta courses are mandatory wastes of money…

But, because there is never any real information involved in descriptions of old or new classes, we’re supposed to use our imaginations. And golly goodness, this one really has me worked up! In this fantastic 3 day course, how will there ever be enough time to learn all of these brand new techniques?!

  • Belief Work – Practical Approach: So, I’m confused. (Are you surprised?) Belief Work is one of the basic tenants of Theta religious/cultic education. But here we are, 15 years after the formation of ThetaHealing… still learning a “Practical Approach”.
  • Free yourself from parent obligations: I’m once again confused. Vianna has 3 adult children- Josh, Bobbi and Brandy, who are attached to her hip and wouldn’t leave her, well, ever. The relationship of Vianna with her kids is about as strangely dependent as possible. How could someone in this kind of ultra, ridiculously needy parent role successfully to teach others to free themselves from their parents? Wait! Vianna used to complain endlessly that she had to pay for her mom to live. She wrote in at least one ThetaHealing book about how abusive her mom was, and has spoken endlessly that she used to be forced to attend church as a child. (Gee, what a bad mom she had!) I’m getting a clearer picture now. Vianna wants to free herself from parental obligations as her own mother ages- but her children are forbidden to free themselves from her. If Vianna’s kids took off, she would be without office staff and generally without people to answer her calls at all hours of the night, run her errands, cover for her when she needs to have surgery or go visit her jailed step-son… Oh, wait! Maybe I am reading into this the wrong way. Another way of reading into the words “Free yourself from parent obligations” is to ditch your kids! In that respect, Vianna’s oldest and only son, Josh, is well learned! Having abandoned all 6 of his children, he has definitely succesfully freed himself from parental obligations. In a nutshell, the principles of ThetaHealing work if you adjust them enough to fit (Vianna’s family) situations as needed.
  • Release Traumas: All these years later, and I’m still wondering how they think this is possible without any sort of real training. But undertaking the impossible always has been ThetaHealing’s way. After all, what if they really figured it out (sans ANY type of education) how to release real trauma… for ONLY a couple hundred U.S. dollars… and my lack of faith or knowledge that Vianna is basically a walking/talking “FAKE” sign is just getting in my way? What if… hmm… what if… ThetaHealing just wouldn’t be ThetaHealing if they didn’t toss in stuff like this to add to the “What If” factor.
  • Get accepted by society: Oh dear. No they didn’t… did they? Grab a handful of grapes as I show you the train of thought of the mastermind behind this one. Ahem. ”Hey guys, I’ve invented a new class called The Game of Life. What should we teach? I know! How to get accepted by society! This way we can cater to, well, everyone in the world who has ever, at any time, felt as if they just weren’t accepted for who they are! How will we teach this, you ask? Noooo, that’s not the problem. I have that covered. We’ll just sit the class down and say, ‘Time for Downloads! Everyone close your eyes and follow along. Do you want to know what it feels like to be accepted by society? If so, then say “yes” out loud. **wait for class to say ‘yes’… pause for a moment… roll eyes around eye sockets for a moment to make it appear that something magical is happening within… open eyes and say, “There you go!”** Yes, that’s it. The only problem is to find out just how much we can charge for such a crucial Download…’ Moving on.
  • Handle peer pressure: Follow same formula as above, replacing ‘do you want to know what it feels like to be accepted by society with do you want to know how to handle peer pressure with grace and ease?’. This is almost too easy, friends.
  • Receive infinite abundance: Alright. I’m going to approach this with just a touch of serious-ness. Come on. Please, for the love of all things small and furry, please… please, please, please… PLEASE realize that there is NO way that you will ever find the way to receive infinite abundance from Vianna. Seriously. There is nothing abundant about this first family of theta- the founder of a company that supposedly heals cancer instantly, and who has “infinite abundance”. And let’s be honest here. I know I will have a few people who try to claim that perhaps Vianna’s perception of “abundance” is family! Well, that’s sweet, but it’s not realistic, and it’s not what drives Vianna. Vianna doesn’t have 6 of her 10 grandkids around her. (And those 6 have been denied thousands of dollars in child support) She was out of the country when her son got married to his 4th wife. Her followers are more deserving of the term “family”. She has a “Manifesting and Abundance” class. Do you think people are looking to use that class to build an abundance of family? Be realistic here. Look at the following 3 pictures they posted of last year’s Thanksgiving “Feast”. Does this look like someone who is happy, healthy and “abundant”? No. It doesn’t. They don’t know how to live it and they certainly don’t know how to teach it. (Although, they do look like their caloric intake is quite abundant. Just being honest here.)

Abundance at Thanksgiving... look at all those (Idaho) potatoes! How abundant!

"Abundance" in a small, messy, outdated kitchen. And they all look so happy... or something...

And the Thanksgiving feast is complete... look at all that meat (I think I see meat there somewhere), and that very expensive pepper shaker (not even a basic pepper grinder?), and soda and some sort of wine-ish beverage, but oh- look at those nicely folded napkins! Abundance? Uh, no, not so much.

  • Grow your business as you wish: Well, this is one is tricky. They do seem to be growing. The business is based upon conning the general population, but I suppose they are growing. So, maybe they can teach you how to grow… in ThetaHealing. I’d like to see them teach the rest of the world, and all their thousands of other businesses how to grow, though. If you can’t teach desperate people how to close their eyes and think that saying “yes” will suddenly create for them all the happiness in the world, somehow I doubt that you’ll ever get another normal, human business to expand and grow. I could be wrong. Except that I’m not.
  • Get ready to succeed, and get excited!: I had no choice but to group these together. I’m simply astounded that a group that claims to teach worldwide healing has course concepts like “Get ready to succeed!” and “get excited!” I have nothing to add here. No wait, I do. Are they serious? This is in the actual course outline??
  • Visioning and Manifestation: Pardon me while I take a few deep breaths… I apologize. I’ve just got little reasoning to add when visioning and manifestation is being covered in a class called “The Game of Life”. I can envision making it to the end of the game board in the actual game of Life, but unfortunately the concepts taught in ThetaHealing are a lot more blatantely strange and non-factual.

Who Actually Came Up with this New Class?

If you look at the description for the course, you’ll see that Hiro Miyazaki is the co-teacher of this class. You may or may not recall a former post of mine called “Heaven’s Gate versus ThetaHealing” In that post, I added some quotes from both Heaven’s Gate cult members as well as ThetaHealing cult members. One of those members was Hiro- I didn’t add his name at the time, but this was his quote about ThetaHealing.

“What I got… is profound, tremendous. What I’m gonna use that for is to teleport; hopefully I could teleport really soon.” Thetahealing™ Member

Hmmmmm. So, this really super wonderful, magically mind-shifting class called “The Game of Life” is co-created by the same person whose purpose for using ThetaHealing is to teleport. Excellent. Clearly the origin of this class is reality based…

And what did Vianna have to say about the class?

“Th teaches you um, health and how to get better, how to get stronger, how to increase your mind, how to increase abundance. So really, ThetaHealing is not just a healing modality it’s a way of life. And so Hiro, knowing it’s a way of life, kinda created something that would fit into all the different avenues of our life. And when we put it together it was good. But this last summer I actually got the chance to see the whole thing all together and actually participate with Hiro in the Game of Life. But Guy and I actually took the class. I mean, Hiro added an enormous amount of information that is really perfect for who he is cause he’s an absolutely fantastic businessman. And as we sat down and started taking this we knew it was divinely inspired. Guy and I both took the class and it changed my, my work significantly. It changed it so completely, um, the worry of trying to get to each thing, and it was, just was gone. It increased our abundance amazingly… And so, we decided to incorporate the game of life into one of the actual visual ThetaHealing classes at the institute.”

Got it.

It’s pretty clear why The Game of Life was important for Vianna and her “abundance.” Someone else invented a class, had to include her lest they got sued like Trisha Howell did when she tried to come up with her own courses, so Vianna’s “abundance” magically increases by taking some of the proceeds of this newly built theta course. Nice! I’d say that some good manifesting skills put to use.

Vianna gets more cash in her pocket. But for the rest of humanity, it’s still an utter waste of cash.

It's more fun to flush money down the toilet than to pretend you're spending it on something of value in ThetaHealing's new course, "The Game of Life"

Personal Attackers Need Not Apply

For post #59, I decided to revisit a subject that has once again reared its seriously ugly head: Those who don’t understand the difference between discussing this blog and personally attacking me.

This blog is called ThetaHealing Revealed: The Fraud – The Cult – The Truth. Nowhere in the title is there even a hint of “Everything About Lindsey Stock’s Current Life“, not even in meta tags.

Check again really quickly- glance up at the top of the page. There’s a tab called “Lindsey” telling you who I am and why I’m here. Why? I just figured maybe you’d want to know just a touch of who I am and how I know so much about ThetaHealing. I’m a curious person and, when I find interest in a blog or great book, I like to know a little about the author(s).

So, even though I don’t mind telling you some things about me as a private person- like, I’m newly remarried (love you, JMK!) and that I’m a proud mom & stepmom- I don’t see that as an invitation to let personal attacks flow toward me as if I’m begging for it… or as if I deserve it. This blog is written by me, but it isn’t about me.

Clearly, some of my examples and stories are from when I was Vianna Stibal’s daughter-in-law. I can’t undo my life and how I know what I know! If I hadn’t been in the family I would know very little about ThetaHealing, and I wouldn’t be able to help so many other people at this point in my life!

Follow Me…

Let’s say that you’re newly married. Let’s say that your father-in-law writes a book called “How to Become an Overnight Millionaire”. Let’s say that the way he sells his book is based upon a story he says happened to him- that one day he woke up a millionaire by doing 3 simple things, declaring them as the only things he has done to get the money he has. Let’s say hundreds, even thousands, of people buy this book. He teaches seminars, he travels around the world giving financial advice and he does one-on-one consultations. His 3 Steps are wacky and based upon no facts or evidence that they will actually work… except for the story that they made your spouses father a millionaire. A random person here or there may even claim that it works. But while you’re in the family, you find out something: Daddy-in-law doesn’t live by his 3 simple steps. In fact, he uses other financial advisors and has them make all of his decisions. Family functions revolve around the success of your FIL, with random seminar attendees showing up to Thanksgiving dinner. Your kids mean nothing to their grandpa because they don’t “need” him like his followers do. So, you steer clear and live your own life.
Out of the blue, your spouse has an affair and leaves you for someone else (who clearly spots the potential money factor in the family). Your father-in-law doesn’t blink twice that you and your kids have been ditched. You try to recover from the sudden life change, while you attempt to put the pieces together, you discover illegal activity of your estranged spouse. Things start to make sense. You research and find out that your father-in-law inherited his money. He was already a millionaire before he wrote his book, but it’s nothing to do with anything he did- he happened to have a dad who died and left him an enormous, hidden-to-the-public estate. Let’s say, you discover that his entire ‘money’ story is nothing but fabrication  meant to con people into following him and trusting his advice. The strange-feeling moments that you’ve had over the years are adding up. Now…

What Would YOU Do?

You’ve got 2 choices.

  1. Do nothing. Sit back and know that people around the world are “learning” from someone with absolutely no experience or education, who doesn’t practice what they preach, takes the money from hard-working people around the world who seek much-needed help. You know that practiced lies and a dishonest motive is behind the con. You know that he sues anyone who dares to question him. But you feel that it’s not your problem to warn others. After all, there may be a random person here or there who thinks you’re doing it out of bitterness since at one point you were in the family.
  2. Do something. You figure, it’s more important to get the word out there about what you know. Sure, you may get some berating comments about how horrible you are, people may call you angry, stupid or jealous. But since you know you’re the only one in your situation to tell people about the real life of this person who seems so successful, you know that you can help people know that they are putting their trust in the wrong guy. Plus, you couldn’t live with the guilt that you didn’t tell people that the books they read, the steps they’re following, and the seminars they attended were taught by a con man… and you decide that it’s more important to say something, regardless of what people may or may not think.
Let’s say you decide to go with option #2. You write a book because the best way to put the insane amount of information you’ve gathered in one place is in the format of a book. All proceeds you make go toward the debt of publishing the book. Your time isn’t just not “paying” off, but you’ve lost time and money over it. But, you decided that it was important to help other people know who your ex parent-in-law really is. You start a blog for people who search the internet for background information and hope that people will come across it and move on to someone/something else… something more reputable and hopefully someone more trustworthy.

Get It, Now?

… not THInK.

The super clever team at the ThetaHealing Institute of Knowledge go by the acronym, THInK. Oh, the irony. Actually, the use of the term “think” in relation to the ThetaHealing modality makes no sense. Zero. Zip. None. Let’s “think” about this.

Using the conscious mind (it’s even underlined in the above definition), reasoning, employing the mind rationally and objectively to evaluate a situation. Hm. If I had a modality that teaches people that they are healing using the sleep brain wave while wide awake to heal things instantly, including re-growing limbs, teleporting, flying, creating matter, changing weather, changing genesdownloading feelings into someone elses brain and so forth… I’m not so sure that I’d choose a moniker like “THInK”.  Perhaps I can suggest “ThIMBLE”- “ThetaHealing Institute of Magically Brainwashing the Lives of Everyone”

I’m here to encourage you to think. Not because I want you to agree with me, but because I want you to think about what is rational and reasonable. Vianna Stibal and her entourage don’t actually want you to think, they want you to THInK- they want you to pay them money, to agree with them, to idolize and idealize them, to take class after class and have session after session… they want you to forget what is reasonable.

The ThetaHealing Institute of Knowledge is based upon anything but knowledge. Vianna Stibal, the self-declared founder, has no knowledge base of her own. She’s uneducated. Or, as other ThetaHealers would like you to think, she’s “self-educated”. That’s a cute way of saying “I didn’t even graduate from high school, I have no degrees or certificates of any kind behind my name, but you’re supposed to forget that when I start telling you things about science and quantum physics.”

THInK would prefer you to do anything but think. I, however, am here to nudge anyone investigating ThetaHealing into thinking rationally about what Vianna’s saying- does it make any sense? What is Vianna actually teaching? How does she actually live? Does she practice what she preaches? What is ThetaHealing? How much does it actually cost to go through all of the courses? What do you get at the end of all of the training? Can you actually expect an instant healing? Can you actually change someone with Down syndrome and heal your best friends’ cancer? Is ThetaHealing logical?

This is where I stand.

If you don’t have the time and money to do the research yourself- to delve into Vianna Stibal’s ”herstory,” to read all of the books and attend all of the classes… I’m here to tell you where to find information. I know more than almost anyone else because I’ve been there. I’ve read it all, I’ve heard it all, I’ve been in the family, I know the full story. I have published everything there is to know about this cult in my book, ShadyHealing (available on Amazon)- but if you can’t afford the $30 to buy the book, then I’ve got this blog!

ThetaHealing Revealed: The Fraud – The Cult – The Truth

This blog is about my experience as a former family member of Vianna Stibal. I have nothing to hide with respect to that. I don’t expect anyone to send me a thank you note (although it makes my day when I get them!), but I think that it’s highly improper for someone who doesn’t know me to come to my blog and comment… about ME. Not to disagree with my assessment of something in particular or to offer a differing opinion or (and this one has never happened) to show me proof of actual ThetaHealing. No… Me.

I maintain this blog as a normal person! I do not hide the fact that I was once Vianna Stibal’s daughter-in-law. This, however, is not the motivating factor behind my expose. And just because I’m writing about something rather unpleasant does not give anyone the right to put words in my mouth. Just because I’m calling “BS” doesn’t mean that I’m full of hate and anger.

For those who will actually take the time to look back through the last 58 posts, I believe that you’ll clearly see that my stance is that ThetaHealing is as substantial as white rice, and as based upon “science and fact” as the whole ‘your baby will have a lot of hair if you have heartburn during pregnancy’ “fact”. On this blog, I point out inconsistencies. I quote The Leader. I draw attention to the ridiculously impossible claims that Vianna declares as “truth”.

If I saw that someone wrote a negative vacuum review on Amazon, I wouldn’t contact the reviewer and tell them how full of hate they are and that they need to “get over it” and “seek therapy” for being so “very, very angry”.

My Life Does Not Revolve Around ThetaHealing.

No, really. It doesn’t. I know it’s shocking for some of you, but let me repeat this point again just for the most stubborn of commenters. My life does not revolve around ThetaHealing. Yes, I’m the writer of the blog. I did all of the many, many, many hours of research and writing and editing and re-writing for my book… over a year ago. Then it was published. Since that time, I’ve been extremely busy. I’m raising children, two of whom are step-children because I’m happily remarried! Got that? I’m happily remarried. My ex-husband is only mentioned in this household when he must be, which is quite rare (thank goodness). I don’t sit around and stew about him or anyone else in the first family of God Commanders all day and night. That, however, doesn’t mean that I will give up the fight for what is right- and what is right is showing the world that Vianna Stibal is a con-woman.

Feel free to attack my stance. Feel free to accuse me of being factually wrong… as long as you’ve got something to back it up. Tell me things to make me think, offer suggestions, ask whatever you’d like. I’m happy to debate. I’m not afraid to be wrong. But we need to be clear here for a minute- this blog is about ThetaHealing. ThetaHealing. Not Lindsey Stock.

Granted, sometimes I’ll toss in a jab at other fake healers and general self-help con artists (James Arthur Ray, for example) if I feel so inclined… but overall, the reason this blog exists is because of my experience, research and knowledge that this cult is still getting away with statements like “I think you can grow back a leg.” (Quoted from Vianna, with thanks from the investigative report by the BBC)

What Brought About this Topic?

It’s been a while since I’ve offered comment rantings for your viewing pleasure. So, in light of the topic at hand, here are some of the reasons why I’m choosing to be very clear about what kind of comments are acceptable on this blog. (NOTE: I have posted nearly every comment that comes to me. There are exactly 4 that I chose not to approve. Some haven’t made it because of those saying ‘this isn’t for publishing, but can you contact me personally at xyz email’. One comment was bashing on my religion, which has nothing to do with ThetaHealing. The other 3 were ranting so heavily either about just me being evil and hate-filled, or repeats of other already posted comments from the same author with no new information… along with accusing me of being hate-filled.)

Someone with the very clever, very mature, pen name of ”Whatever” wrote several times, and was definitely the inspiration I needed for post #59. I published a few of his/hers, but decided not to publish the last one. After reading the musings of Whatever, I think you’ll see why I it was one of only 4 comments that didn’t make it past the approval process out of hundreds since November 2009… : “this is all a big hissy fit because you aren’t feeling acknowledged the way you want to be. your motives are distorted and based on malice. you are simply doing this from a place of anger and revenge, not because you have any real authority or a real knowledge or understanding of this subject… i would recommend some traditional counseling or something because this obsession you have isn’t healthy.”   ”you are very, very angry” “if you really want to be a true activist why not go after child porn or drugs or prostitution” “you don’t come across as particularly logical in your information here… simply angry and kind of bitchy.”

This next one is a screenshot from YouTube. It’s not actually written directly to me (I think?) but I had to add it because it was hilariously contradictory.

Edward Hitton kindly said, “I hope you will find peace one day.” (I didn’t realize that I didn’t have peace… that was news to me.)

EIO really stumped me with, “And about what exactly are you afraid of? Invasion of crazy theta healers on the planet?”

Marie had plenty to tell me. “I have no idea HOW Vianna Stibal treats her family, but this much I do know. I read very clearly on this blog that this particular woman, Lindsey, who was a part of this family, is disgruntled, saddened, hurt, angry, attacking,  suffering, and lashing out. Even if she denies it, it is obvious to anyone reading her posts. And those things are NOT what the bible says is the Fruit of the Spirit.” “You can not harm another with out the same intensity of harm smacking you right back again. It’s called the Law of Reciprocity.” “I make my comments and opinions based soley on my own knowledge, intuition, science, and Spirit of God.” (This is quoted from one of the only other comments that didn’t pass my practically non-existent criteria for comment publishing standard… but, once again, I think it’s fairly obvious why:) “She doesn’t admit to ANY fault of her own for her husband leaving her… Your attacks will only serve to harm you and your own family.”

And a word from Pip: “Have you ever connected to that wonderful peaceful place where the light is? Please email me to let  me know as I am baffled by your anger.”

And Cyndi, probably the most obnoxious CAPITAL LETTER commenter yet, had one of the four comments that didn’t make it to the viewing public’s eye (most of these are actually from the comments that DID make it!): “Your pain and own personal issues are being reflected in what you do to others” “Your pain and hate is only a reflection of your own personal thoughts about yourself, otherwise, you wouldnt have them and you wouldnt being going thru this with VIANNA” “You are only creating bad KARMA!” “It would be different if YOU WOULD HAVE DONE research FIRST, and was concerned about the TRUTH of the MODALITY itself, but you did it to harm a person you dont like and her career and it affected many others, US CERTIFIED THETAHEALERS! So the book was written with bad KARMA!” “We have enough hate in this world other than spreading it’s energy around such as you have done with this BOOK.” “You would think you would know that with your statement that you believe in GOD?” “If GOD wanted the world to know about peoples personal experiences, we would all be telepathic, now wouldnt we?” “Why ruin others chances over your hate? … We can all read between the lines. May the light find you.” “you are trying to ride on the tale of smearing VIANNA’s reputation, you know trying to gain NARCISSIST POWER and GAIN MILLIONS off of this.  You shouldnt be charging for this if you really care about the public so much!” “IF Lindsay didnt have a bad experience with this family she wouldnt give a hoot about the public!…My whole point in this is this book is OBVIOUSLY not about THETAHEALING NOT WORKING”

Friends, I’m happy to listen to what those from the other side of the rainbow have to tell me, but enough is enough. And this, friends, is enough. I encourage you to leave your comments. Good or bad, doesn’t matter! But please… keep it about ThetaHealing. I’m going to issue a blanket statement really quickly here that I’m not full of hate and anger and sadness and rage and whatever else people have to say about me. I’m not still stuck on my ex-husband. My life is good, guys. I have happy, healthy, well-adjusted kids and very, very little of my life is focused on ThetaHealing. No, it’s not a smiley, happy blog- but sometimes the truth just basically isn’t that much fun. Just because I’m showing the world that fantasy should stay in cartoons and comic books doesn’t mean that I’m an angry person.

I hope to hear from you… about ThetaHealing.

Are They Bitter, Too?

This post is dedicated solely to the Theta family and their followers, with great respect for all of their comments about me- and how the “only” reason I’m interested in the downfall of ThetaHealing is because I’m a bitter, angry, un-loving, jealous, Godless, spiteful, lonely, vengeful, pathetic woman who needs to “get over it” and “get a life” and “move on, for heaven’s sake”.

A quick search on Google shows a plethora of websites and blogs, drawing attention to the ignorant rantings of an uneducated nobody from Idaho Falls, Idaho, who has made a fortune off of people’s unfortunate lives.

It’s not just me.

There really are other, normal people who find interest in self-help gurus who have as much interest in the people they’re “helping” as I do in cleaning a men’s bathroom.

Feel free to peruse the websites that I’ve added. Note that one of them is a duplicate, not by error, but because he has two posts I’m drawing attention to. (He’s written three, but I figured 2 were good enough) All images are linked and ready to view! So click and enjoy!

(Disclaimer: Some of these sites are full of 18+ language. Read at your own discretion. A couple of the sites are atheist in nature, and I don’t claim to agree with any other subjects on any of these sites, religious or otherwise, aside from the ThetaHealing subject. This is merely to show that other people, like me, are interested in posting about ThetaHealing/Vianna Stibal.)

Unconditional Love… for Your Cash

I encourage everyone who comes across this blog to watch the following video.

A few things stood out to me the first time I watched it. I put up my prior post (The Healing Touch) the night it aired, in the midst of my shock that the BBC actually did a story on ThetaHealing after all this time

But I couldn’t get one part of the report out of my mind. It just kept gnawing at me!

This goes back to the core of why I’m still doing this. No matter how sarcastic I can be, or how much I joke about Vianna’s gross nasal issues, the reason for this blog, for my book, for comments on YouTube, etc. is for one reason only: It is heartbreaking and hurtful to my very soul to know that people around the world are innocently searching for help, and Vianna’s lure traps them when they’re at their most vulnerable.

The anonymous man on the BBC Newsnight story spent £1,200 (approx. $1,920) on worthless ThetaHealing sessions. He represents all of the anonymous, faceless, embarrassed, duped people in many parts of the world. His identity may be hidden, but his voice speaks for those whom fake healings and devotion are given- those who Vianna and her underlings care nothing about. To them, he was a walking wad of cash. And for those of us who had/have placed undeserved faith in the Theta clan, as he did, our health and well-being are code words… lures… to trap us into paying for that which they are incapable of providing. They see our need, find the vulnerability, and pounce.

Unconditional Love: The Theta Way

It goes something like this: “I care so much about you! I want you to be healthy, with a hot, rich husband/wife! You have no legs? That’s okay, we can regrow them! Want a summer wedding in mid winter? That’s okay, we can change the weather! Cancer? Well, that’s our specialty! Who are you to say you can’t afford our fees… you can’t afford to not do this!!”

ThetaHealing: We Love Your Money

It’s all just a lure, a lovely worded modality, filled with terms like “unconditional love” and “love and light” and “going up to God” and “downloading feelings”. There is no shortage of people telling me, “But Vianna did a healing on me FOR FREE!!! So she’s definitely not all about the money!” Like any cult, they’re not going to come right out and tell you all of the hidden, strange beliefs that ThetaHealing actually embraces. They’re not going to sell you their pitch of why you should join by stating that it takes many, many thousands of (US) dollars to get to the top of the Theta pyramid, and that you have to re-certify every couple of years (not for free), and that Vianna comes out with a new book whenever she gets a new sickness or near death experience (which is shockingly- or not shockingly, depending upon your stance- quite often) and that teachers are required to purchase the newest editions of her books, along with manuals, travel costs, etc.

ThetaHealing is NOT an inexpensive hobby. It’s a cult that lures in those who are in need of something- usually money, relationships, babies and weight loss. Now may be a good time to mention again that Vianna and her son have both been married 4 times each and one daughter has 3 kids with a man who refuses to marry her, that one of Vianna’s daughters has had repeated miscarriages, and that Vianna (and her heaviest daughter) have had liposuction and still struggle with obesity… and that clearly the money they earn is from a rather unconventional source.

Payment for Services Rendered

I’ve heard too many times to count, that “Vianna has to make money, too!” and that such is the reason she charges for healing. I definitely wouldn’t care that she was making a fortune off of people if it was actually a worthwhile spending of money… money that other people had to work hard for. I believe that people have original ideas all of the time! I’m definitely a fan of thinkers, of those who use the brains that God gave us to find new ways to improve the old and invent the new. Making money is a part of this culture, and making a LOT of money is not a bad thing!!

But this is no regular job. Vianna is still pretending after 16 years that she healed herself of her invisible cancer. And thus the Theta trap, with “unconditional love” for money.

The Sick Stay Sick

The anonymous man from the report mentioned that he should have sought medical help, and that, “There was never any suggestion I should go back to my doctor, which is what I needed to do.” and this is where my heart aches!

It’s not common for ThetaHealers to want to involve doctors. In fact, in my experience with the family, Vianna and her children/grandchildren visited doctors far more than any of their followers… which is something they worked very, very hard to cover. Generally, if doctors (or other sources of health- acupuncturists, massage therapists, etc.) were involved, then the sick would get better. And where would the need for ThetaHealing lie? The sick must stay sick, and receive healing after healing after useless Theta healing, or they’d be out of business.

There are many, many people in the world searching for answers, searching for help- sick, lonely, poor, or simply seeking improvement- and the self help conmen are aplenty! There is no shortage of those who promise the world for a small fee, we all know that. But when someone starts a business, and makes a ridiculous amount of money off of an unproven healing technique, off of lies??? That’s despicable!

There is no longer an excuse needed for Vianna- she can get a real job, like all of the rest of us, who actually do something to earn money. I don’t get paid to pray for people. And if that’s truly all Vianna does, then she should do it, too. I can promise you right now that Vianna is no closer to God than the fat, drunk guy down the street from me.

Healing, Not ThetaHealing?

There never has been, and never will be, any proof that Vianna Stibal ever had cancer. Since it is impossible to heal something that never existed, the very premise of ThetaHealing (aka the fake channeling from God) is nothing but a sick conning of the sick.

I believe in healing. I believe in God. I absolutely believe that faith can work miracles! But ThetaHealing is as much about healing as Bill Gates is a master of gates. ThetaHealing is merely a con, a way to lure those in need to follow someone whom appears to have healed herself of cancer! But it didn’t happen. Save your money. You don’t have to pay for faith or healing.

If this sounds like a group that you would want to learn more from, please visit the ThetaHealing website for more information. But while you consider it, remember what our good friend Jiminy Cricket said…

Jiminy Cricket: Go ahead, make a fool of yourself, then maybe you’ll listen to your conscience.

Excerpts from the book, ShadyHealing

After reading many YouTube comments on the most recent BBC story on ThetaHealing, I noticed that the Theta followers and defenders of the Vianna throne often use the same type of description:

@kaisersoce07 … It was the healing with Vianna that released the subconscious beliefs that had been blocking healing. That’s how Theta works. BTW She refused any payment for it. She or any Theta Healer will tell you it’s not them but God who does the work. HelpEveryoneAndLove        10 hours ago

If “that’s how Theta works, then what is ThetaHealing actually used for? What can it do? The following are excerpts from ShadyHealing.

What can ThetaHealing be Used For?

ThetaHealing is used to bring about “spontaneous physical and emotional healing,” and to heal “… such medical challenges as Hepatitis C, Epstein-Barr, AIDS, herpes, tumors, various types of cancers, and many other conditions, diseases and genetic defects.” Vianna also claims to “have watched things instantly appear,” and has said, “I healed my car (with witnesses of course.)”[1]

“I’ve had more results growing back people’s limbs lately. They’re growing back fingers and legs, they’re actually growing like inches, added on to legs that have actually been, uh, amputated. So I think that was kinda cool.” [2]

“You can rebuild the whole vertebrae. We’ve actually done that. I’ve been very successful.”[3]

“We teach people how to stretch time…to actually have a little bit more time to do what you need to… and it usually doesn’t affect anybody else around you unless you want it to.”[4]

I believe that it’s safe to say that ThetaHealing claims the ability to do nearly anything.

Why don’t People Always Heal?

According to a handout from a certified teacher Melinda Lee [1] (as seen on Fox News) for her “Theta Healing/ Advanced DNA” class, there are eight reasons “Why People Fail to Heal.”

  1. Lack of, or inadequate water, food, rest, exercise.
  2. Not owning your power: unconditional love for self and others, forgiveness for self and others, empowerment, responsibility vs. victimization, choice vs. ignorance, subjugation, boundaries, attitude of gratitude
  3. People get more positive attention when they are sick. “There, there, let me get that for you.”
  4. Their disease becomes their identity. (“Woundology” the patient has given the disease all the power)
  5. Disharmonious core beliefs
  6. Personal choice to not let go of their disease, suffering, or the past. (Life force gets drained because more energy is being diverted to holding onto the past)
  7. There is a breakdown in communication between patient and healer. Sometimes the healer does not have the right password/keys to get into the patients energy system. If this is the case refer to someone who might have the right key.
  8. Sometimes healing occurs at the expense of the physical body “Death”. The soul/spirit learns the lesson in the end.”

Furthermore, I have personally heard the following reasons. If you have not received, or given, an instant healing, it’s because:

  1. You didn’t connect with God on the Seventh Plane of Existence.
  2. You didn’t properly use the theta brain wave.
  3. You need Belief Work on the History, Genetic and Soul levels.
  4. You need Feeling Work.
  5. You need Downloads.
  6. You have a broken heart.
  7. Your body is toxic.
  8. You’re low on vitamins, minerals or other nutritional supplement such as essential fatty acids.
  9. You don’t want to be healed on a subconscious level (which means you don’t truly want it.)
  10. Your spouse, partner, child, extended family or friends don’t want you to be healed.
  11. You’re without a good office or working environment.
  12. You need smarter or more accepting clients.
  13. You didn’t witness the healing until it finished.

Any and all of these twenty-one reasons for lack of giving or receiving healing can be dealt with by numerous
sessions with a ThetaHealing practitioner, or by personally attending a seminar to learn how to do “the work” on
one’s self. The classes to take are as follows,

  • Basic DNA
  • Advanced DNA
  • Manifesting and Abundance
  • Intuitive Anatomy
  • Disease and Disorder
  • World Relations
  • Rainbow Children
  • DNA 3

Interestingly, most physical, mental and non-organic matter healings that Vianna brags about have not been the experience of her students and those who go on to become practitioners. (Are you surprised?)

The Healing Touch

For at least 2 years, I’ve expressed the same hope to nearly everyone I know… and it goes something like this: “I just know that soon a major news station will pick up this story, which will pave the way for others to see what’s really going on inside ThetaHealing.”

And it happened.

Disappearing Cancer

The BBC story focuses on undercover footage of “healer”, Jenny Johnstone. As the website’s title picture declares, “The faith healers who claim they can cure cancer,” Johnstone is one of the many followers of Vianna Stibal, leader and founder of the ThetaHealing cult. For most of us, the concept of curing just one person’s cancer would be something to gush over. For Ms. Johnstone, however, it’s quite the common occurrence. In fact, it’s doubtful that she could have shown less emotion over something as miraculous as she claims.

Johnstone: “There was a baby I worked on over the telephone and, from one day to the next, the cancer in his stomach had just disappeared.”

Was any proof of the cancer baby healing offered in this hidden video consultation? Of course not. Why would a potential ”client” want proof of ThetaHealing’s touted results? Clearly a request for proof would show a lack of faith, right, and thus would be a disgrace to even wish for?

Johnstone: “Yeah, lots of cancers. Colon, lung, uh, breast, I haven’t had cervical cancer before… I haven’t had a client whose had cervical cancer before.”

BBC: “And have you had any success with any of them?”

Johnstone: “Oh yeah, absolutely. So, but, I mean, it’s not me that heals, you heal yourself, but I create the conditions.Cancer in many ways is one of the easier things. ”

Who wants to be the first person to tell someone going through cancer treatment that it’s “one of the easier things”? Anyone? No takers? I personally love the way Johnstone treads so delicately along the pathway of “healing”. She, like other ThetaHealers, can’t outrightly claim the gift of healing- instead they charge money by facilitating the way it happens… in this case “creating the conditions” in which cancer will vanish in one day! How convenient.

I’m sure the cameraman was touched.

YouTube used to be the posting-ground of much of Vianna’s ramblings, also known as ThetaHealing seminars and advertisements. However, heavy scrutiny (no, not just from me!) caused the THInKers from Vianna’s ThetaHealing Institute of Knowledge to pull off most of the old incoherent, nasal-toned profundities, and there is very little in the way of fresh ramblings, from which we can learn the ways of healing on the YouTube forum. So, what better way to ask for further clarification on this Godly issue than straight from the Horse’s mouth? … as they say.

One BBC reporter attempted that which is akin to blasphemy in the ThetaHealing universe: he tried to ask Vianna a question.

What did Vianna, the self-made Prophetess, have to say?

Well, not much. The Newsnight crew called out to her, stating that they wanted to ask her a few questions. Vianna flashes a smirk which reads “I’m going to pretend I don’t like this, but really it makes me feel like a movie star!”… at which point Guy lunges at who appears to be the reporter, and later attacks the camera man!! It makes me feel so cozy to watch the gushing unconditional love.

At one point in the short clip, we can hear the reporter say,”We have every right!” to Guy… and Guy replies, ”No, you don’t!” This kind of behavior on the part of Guy Stibal falls directly in line with how they deal with anyone they see as a threat. The ThetaHealing family sues at the drop of a hat (including wife to husband- see A Horse is a Horse, of Course of Course) and any uncontrolled questioning is met with hostility at best, violence at worst!

But, in all fairness, Guy was out of his element. According to aforementioned YouTube, the UK isn’t where Guy is at his best.

Vianna explains that, when in the Bahamas, “Guy becomes just super mellow.”

Perhaps the BBC just didn’t catch him in the right country.

The Google Game

Healing the World, One URL at a Time

Since procuring the URL www.thetahealingtechnique.com, God’s messenger’s at THInK have really outdone themselves in their efforts to spread the healing Word. Here is an example of their unconditional love-encrusted wisdom.

Let’s play the Google Game!

Does anyone else find this cheesy attempt at the Google Game cringe worthy? I can’t help it. I already know how virtually ignorant the crew at THInK are, and that nothing that they do is for the benefit of anyone but Vianna and her minions… yet even I felt a twinge of wanting to help them recover from the badly done takeover of www.thetahealingtechnique.com

The Google Game: “The more we, at the ThetaHealing Institute of Knowledge use the words ‘fraud, scam and cult’, the more the Google ‘bots will spot us. We will take those foul words from the mouths of the enemies and climb to the top of the Google ranks! If someone searches for ‘fraud, scam or cult’, they will no longer see the negative websites, but will come straight to us! To get there, we shall repeat the words ‘fraud, scam and cult’ as much as we can, with little dialogue between the words ‘fraud, scam and cult’… and our audience will have no idea that we are trying to divert attention from the negative websites about us! It doesn’t matter that our only explanation about the words ’fraud, scam and cult’ is that we say that we are NOT a ‘fraud, scam or cult’! No one will ever be the wiser that it’s all a Google Game!”

Honestly. This is what they took over www.thetahealingtechnique.com for?

Aren’t you convinced? All it takes is to say it, and it’s done. Right? So far that’s the extent of proof for everything else in ThetaHealing- “Vianna says so. God told her.”- so why not?

Competing Services. Really? That’s what they’re going with?

According to this very classy website, those of us who speak out are only promoting a “competing service”. That’s the only thing excuse they had as to why there are so many people discovering the truth? Last time I checked, which was right now, I’m not selling my own competing service. I’m drawing attention to the “fraud, scam or cult” for those who may not know yet. In fact, nearly all of “us” who speak out about the healing world’s unfortunately shady companion, ThetaHealing, have no services to sell or promote. (While I have written a book about my insider experience and research, that is not even remotely my reason for openly finding fault with Vianna Stibal and her money-maker fake cancer healing story.)

Selling Nothing, Saying Everything

1. A great website, www.thetahealing-unmasked.com , is chock full of information about the fiction that ThetaHealing so obviously is- with no competing services to sell.

2. Still another webpage declares the nonsense at http://hubpages.com/hub/Theta-Healing-Or-Theta-Stealing , while no competitive healing process is being sold.

3. There is even a great, and hilariously accurate, video on YouTube relating the nonsense that Vianna and her drone’s proclaim as God’s truth.

4. Another website, Kiran’s Corner, http://www.kiranscorner.com/2011/03/theta-healing-and-me-part-2.html discusses an original (and very expensive) reaction to ThetaHealing as well as the realization (a year later) that it is simply a nice, but useless, story.

5. The Sceptical Letter Writer in the UK has also spoken out about the illegal use of claiming to cure cancer, at     http://scepticalletterwriter.blogspot.com/2010/08/vianna-stibal-and-her-cancer-cures.html

6. Even James Randi has chimed in to declare his knowledge of the insanity…

Do a quick Google search for “ThetaHealing Scam” “ThetaHealing Fraud” or “ThetaHealing Cult“. While it’s possible that you’ll come across someone trying to sell a “competing service”, the majority of results will either be from regular people who have realized (and want to help others realize) that ThetaHealing is a load of bull… or… from Theta ‘Healers’ who want to play The Google Game – aka SEO manufacturing.

I’m just personally thrilled to see that the non-thinkers at THInK decided that it was worth it to fight for www.thetahealingtechnique.com so that they could use the URL for really spectacular healing purposes… like “no, we are not a cult” “no, it is not a scam” ”no, it is not a fraud.”

Good job, guys! We’re all convinced now! Please, sign me up right now for a ThetaHealing session!!
